Sterling Silver Vesta RMS Nigeria Africa Coronation Naval Review 1902 Steamer
A rare piece of Naval and Royal Mail History. This handsome Sterling Silver Vesta or Match Safe commemorates the Coronation of Edward VII after his mother Queen Victoria's death. Edward was Crowned King on Aug.9, 1902. The Naval Review was held on Aug.16, 1902 at Spithead in England. The ship that this Vesta represents was built in 1901, and presumably was in the flotilla at Spithead that day in 1902.
